July has been a busy month for the band, seems like all months are quite busy lately. Weve attanded a recording studio in June and have been doind a video shoot this month to coincide with the audio we have produced, which I have to say we are all quite proud of. New photos have gone up on the website today too. The girls recently purchased all new outfits and theyre B L A C K & G O L D of course. Weve been busy with a few private functions mainly weddings and we have gone down well on all occasions, weve started working on a few new songs to add to the set list and as usual are keen to be out playing again shortly.
April has been a good month for the band. With successful gigs in Hindley and Timperly the new line-up is bedding in nicely and all the new equipment has been given the fine tuning needed by our resident sound engineer Mick Porter. Our charity gig in May has raised over £500 for The East Lancs Hospice, so we are all proud of ourselves there. Were all off the recording studio today to put some tracks down for a demo CD and our website hopefully they will be online soon. The Darwen Festival is just around the corner and we are playing at the Belgrave Live Music and Cafe Bar at 2pm on 4th June, so hope to see you there.
Another busy month for the band with changes in personnel, equipment upgrades and work on new numbers. Adrian (rythmn guitar) is to step down, to be replaced by Stefan Utsch. Andy Cash steps in to fill John Hunters place on drums. Both Adrian and John remain available as reserves when needed. Great night was held at the 55th Club in Preston on 10th March with a very solid performance from all concerned and a crowded dance floor! More investment is being made in equipment and stage wear. We have much improved rehearsal space and resident sound engineer Mick is really refining our sound balance. New numbers being worked on include Barefootin, Respect, Rescue Me, Signed, Sealed, Delivered, River Deep, Mountain High and dance floor standard, Heat Wave. Dates include a studio visit in April to record a sample disc and gigs at The Rose Club, Hindley and The Stonemasons in Timperley (see schedule page).
There has been alot happening over the past few months and a few changes in the line up of the band, as you can probably imagine, its quote difficult to organise a large band in terms of rehearsals, all being available at the same time for gigs, work commitments etc etc. We have even changed our rehearsal venue yet again due to timing issues with our last place. So whats new? Well we have a new male vocalist and a third female vocalist added to the band and this really does lift the vocals and gives us a greater far greater range of music to go after. Weve even found a good reliable sound engineer and been out and bought some new equipment such as a bigger and better P.A. system, now we are really ready to impress.
